Taming the Language Barrier, Seinäjoki

Growth and Internationalisation Through Partnerships: Tackling the ‘Language Barrier Monster’ in the Light of Barometers, Surveys and Reports.
NOTE! The event will be held in Finnish only.
Welcome to join us in taming the language barrier and making the voice of South Ostrobothnia heard!
How do the language skills, employment, and expertise of international professionals appear in our region’s everyday life? And how could we make it easier for employers, workplaces, and international talent to meet?
In this event, we will explore the topic based on barometers, surveys and reports, but above all discuss practical solutions and good practices from South Ostrobothnia. The aim is to challenge assumptions, identify barriers, and highlight effective ways to overcome language-related challenges at workplaces, in education, and in everyday life.
We will hear presentations from the Chamber of Commerce, the Work in Finland / Vierko 2 project, international professionals, and language and integration experts. The programme concludes with a joint workshop discussing onboarding, language training, language services, and labour market needs, and jointly developing concrete solutions to everyday challenges.
Based on the discussions, shared regional views and messages will also be compiled for national-level dialogue and decision-making.
